Use of sheets/halyards and their associated winches.Sail handling

Rope work -  Ability to tie knots and to know their correct use.

Use of safety harnesses, life jackets and personal buoyancy aids.Personal safety equipment

Recover a man overboard.Man overboard

Emergency equipment - Learn to operate distress flare

Manners and customs - Aware of the responsibilities of yacht skippers & crew. 

Night Watch, Navigation & Environment.  

Dinghies - Handle a dinghy under oars, docking, loading

Try your hand at chart work, electronic navigation, anchoring techniques, boat maintenance and much more.

It is up to you how much you would like to learn, you have the control of what you would like to experience on -board.

On a informal sailing trip you will be guided to the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) syllabus, by a dedicated crew who have sailed extensive offshore miles.

IF YOU CHOOSE you can gain 'Certified' Competent Crew and Coastal + Radio Licence operator' check  out the Western Australia catamaran!

YOUR STAY ON-BOARD

Having chosen to learn to sail charter, you will be sailing in some of the finest and most protected sailing areas on the planet, renowned as a “sailor's playground”. All year round, you can enjoy short hops from one blissful anchorage to another.

​

By the end of your charter experience, you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row/drive a dinghy & assist in all the day to day duties on board.

YOUR ACCOMMODATION

Each cabin has a refined and contemporary interior, a queen bed, scrumptious linens.

Some yachts are fully air-conditioned with private bathroom.
Most yachts can accommodate up to 8 guests but in order to get more of a one to one experience, learning at your pace we have chosen to  limit each vessel to four guests in two cabins and a crew of two.

Your day of arrival prior to leaving on your charter we take you shopping for all your snacks, drinks and food that you may like to cook on board your La Vie yacht.
